Every since I was little, I used to talk in my sleep. A couple of times, I have even scarred people by sleep walking. In about 3rd grade, I was in girl scouts and we went on a trip to Minnesota. We stayed the night in a cave and sometime during the night I was sleep walking. Boy, did I scare my troop leaders. A cave is not exactly the safest place to do that!
Thankfully, I have out grown the sleep walking, but I still talk in my sleep! Ever since getting married, David is always telling me about what I say at night. He even jokes to other people, about how all of a sudden I will be sitting upright in bed and talking in clear, full on sentences. Now, I never remember anything the next morning and he never wakes me up. From what I have said, he believes that I am normally dreaming about work.
Everyone always asks me if David snores or talks in his sleep and that I know of he doesn't. In reality, he probably does but because I am such a deep sleeper and I can sleep through almost everything. Well what do you know! He does talk in his sleep and it was about a food! Just the other night, I was startled awake by him talking. He said something about, "Westend cafe is not good. Well, actually it's horrible." I couldn't believe it! I was thinking to myself, I have to write this down because I can't forget. Well, I was too darn sleepy to actually write it down. Thankfully, I remembered and when I told him in the morning he couldn't believe it.
So now when he tells people that I talk in my sleep, I can say that he does so as well!

My very own bug killer
I was about to jump into the shower on Saturday morning, when I saw this very large spider! Now, I am okay with most bugs, but when it comes to spiders, I hate them! I even flinch when I am in the process of squishing them. So when I saw this spider, I called over my little bug killer named Cali. In the past, I always would call the hubby over to kill them and he would always laugh at me. I think he found my aversion to spiders to be more of an annoyance though. Since getting Cali, all I have to do is call her name and she is more than happy to kill it for me.
Anyways, back to my spider dilemma, she batted at it with her paw and it ran away, then she batted at it some more. After, a couple of blows it stops moving and then she eats it! I don't understand the whole eating it thing, as I am sure it doesn't taste very good. I am all for it though, because then it is gone completely and I don't even have to dispose of it either. She is such a great kitty!

Healthy and Yummy: Is It Possible?
Eating healthy doesn't always mean you have to sacrifice taste. Just because an item has a fat free label on it, doesn't mean it's horrible. I definitely think the food industry has made great strides in this area. Thanks to my awesome co-worker Maria, who introduced me to some snacks that taste great and are good for you as well. I know you're thinking, how is this possible? Well, let me introduce to you:
These guys are so great, because they are only 90 calories or 2 Weight Watchers points per package. I bought the Chocolatey Mint and David loved them, as did I! They also come in other flavors, Buttered Popcorn, Caramel Drizzle, Chocolatey Drizzle, and Cinammon Struesal, and Peanut Butter.
Anything pre-packaged is always good, that way you don't over eat. Over eating or portion control is definitely one the hardest aspects of Weight Watchers for David. It doesn't help either, that in the past I have never worried about how much food I make or how much I dish up on his plate. This is something that I have been working on to help him, along with being a better shopper and buying healthier food. Just because I can't stand bannanas doesn't mean, I can't buy them for the hubby!
Anyways, you gotta try these as so they are sooo good!

Oh, Too Short of a Weekend
This last weekend turned out pretty good! We started with a party to celebrate the launch of our friend's new website, OutdoorPros.com.
Tim- I have already added OutdoorPros.com to my blogroll, as I know you would eventually ask me everyday, till I succumbed to your request.
Anyways, if you want cheap camping equipment or anything outdoor related head on over to OutdoorPros.com. David thoroughly enjoyed himself at the party. He got to be part of a small informational movie, in which he, described what bear boxes are and how they are used. Put him in front of camera and he always has a blast. When they post it, I will definitely need to remember to post the link on here!
Saturday, we met with a financial planner. We went over everything from wills, life insurance to planning retirement. It's nice having a plan and acting on it. He gave us a list of things to do for homework! I'm not in school anymore and I am getting homework! :) This is good homework though.
The highlight of the weekend for me was when we FINALLY went to Portillo's Hot Dogs, in Moreno Valley! The place was jam packed, which I am hoping is only temporary, as they just opened. I got myself, the Chicago style hot dog I wanted. It was very good! Scott and Rachel joined us and they liked it as well. David and I walked out the door spending $10.00 on lunch, which is awesome. It is definitely going on my list of places to regularly visit. If Moreno Valley is too far for you, they also opened one in Buena Park.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing. I took a nap both Saturday and Sunday afternoon which was great! We went to bed early Saturday night, so we missed the hail. I would have loved to have seen that, as it doesn't happen very often out here. We did go to sleep listening to the rain though.
Overall, it is was a great weekend, but like always never long enough!

How We Met
David and I met November 2001, when I was a sophomore in college. I had invited some friends over one Saturday evening to hang out. I remember opening the door to let everyone in and my friend James gave me a hug when he entered. James was always a huggy person, so this wasn't unusual for him. Then in walked this random guy, whom I had never met before, and he immediately hugged me as well. I was a little shocked, as I am definitely not a hugger by nature. I was thinking to myself, what is the guy doing!?!
He introduces himself as David and we eventually get to talking. He asks me all these questions and found out that I liked Weezer and was a Christian. He was immediately hooked. I was soon hooked as well, as he was good looking and funny. After exchanging info and saying goodbye, I was on cloud nine and I was thinking to myself, Thank You God for introducing me to this amazing guy! Meanwhile, David had told his friends parents, that he had met the girl he was going to marry. Awwww! :D
He was supposed to call the next day, but never did. I waited and waited, but nothing. I was pretty bummed out, as I really thought we had hit it off. Now, I could have called him as I had his number, but here I was thinking that I got stood up. I wasn't about to call him and look silly.
Later, that evening, I was checking my email and noticed that he had emailed me. I thought to myself, hmm I wonder kind of excuse he is going to have. Basically the email said, that he had a great time the previous evening and he tried calling, but no one answered. As I was reading this. I was thinking, "Oh no! Did I give him the wrong number?!". I then read the last line and he asked if xxx-xxx-xxxx was the right number. Turns outs, I has accidentally switched the last two digits around! I was mortified and I felt so bad! Here he was thinking this entire time, that I had blown him off!
I nervously called him and I probably apologized, over and over again a thousand times. Luckily, he thought that the entire situation was kinda funny. I remember that we talked for quite awhile, on the phone that night. We made plans to see each other the next night, which was the start of our next three dates in three days!
Looking back, the entire situation makes me smile as we were so young and silly. Little did we know, that 5 and half years later we would get married!

What? February?
I can't believe that tomorrow is the first of February. Where is the time going? Is life on fast forward? Can we please slow it down, pretty please! Maybe its just that we are enjoying life to its fullest. We have been so busy going on trips and socializing with friends and enjoying being married. The next couple of weeks, are again jam packed. We are going to San Diego for Valentines Day. David did the Name Your Price on Priceline and we are going to stay at the Hilton San Diego Resort for an awesome price. I am looking forward to it and I hope we have some nice weather while we are down there. One thing on the list of things to do, is go to the mexican restaurant, El Indio that we went to the last time we were in San Diego. They have the best chips and salsa ever and I really mean it! Too bad it is so far away, but it does make those trips to San Diego that much more special!
The weekend after that, David is starting back up doing film work again. It was nice that he had a break from it the last couple of months and we had our weekends to spend together. Last year, the auto races that he was filming, were all pretty local. There were a couple of times that he had to go to Havasu, but it looks like this year though, they will be going farther away. Thus, David will be gone more. The first shoot is in Phoenix and they are flying him out there which is a first for him. Rumor is that some of the races during the summer might be even further. There are times that I don't like him being gone so much on the weekends, but it pays for the fun extra stuff that we get to do. Like going to Hawaii this summer and then London for Christmas. This time that he is gone, I have made plans to spend some time with my friend Kristy, whom I don't get to see nearly enough. I am looking forward to spending some girl time with her, going out to lunch and shopping. Who doens't like shopping?! :)

Edit: I am a horrible friend, because I failed to mention that I am having lunch tomorrow with the fabolous MZBrandy and Jenn, which are probably my most faithful readers. Please forgive me?

David's Backpacking Trip
So I figured I would share with everyone a couple of pictures from David's backpacking trip and tell you a bit about it. They went backpacking in the Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon which is in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountain range. They hiked 44 miles in 4 days! They didn't realize before heading out on the trail that most people do the same trail in 6 days and not 4! They left from Mineral King and headed out to Redwood Meadow where they camped under the redwoods. From there they hiked to Hamilton Lake and over Black Rock Pass. The third night they camped at Spring lake and headed back out the last day. They crossed the Great Western Divide three time in the course of their trip. I am sure it is much more beautiful in person and that the photos do not do it justice. Someday I hope I will get to see part of this area in person. I know I could never do the trip they did as I would never be able to carry my pack that long and over all of the elevation changes they did.
These next two pictures are of Precipice Lake which is on the High Sierra Trail. I love all the blue and red's in the water. I would so love to see this person.
