Disneyland is calling my name

I am currently feeling the itch to go to Disneyland. We were recently there, but it was a quick after work type of trip. It's been awhile since we spent some series time there. I am thinking maybe the last time was my birthday, but that doesn't seem right as that was back in the end of April.

Anyways, maybe we can find some time to head on down there this long weekend. And since, I am talking about Disneyland and I have been a picture slacker lately, here are some photos from one of our trips a couple of months ago that I never posted.

I was player 1 and David number 2. He always kicks my butt!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

I have not posted any photos in a very long time, so we are going to just have change that!

This past(it's more like last weekend now) weekend we celebrated our friend Josh's birthday in the form of a photos scavenger hunt. It was pretty cool. The scavenger hunt took you all over, to certain places that were a part of his life. You had an hour to go to as many of the places on the list and at each place you had to do something, like for example at the high school he went to you had to take a picture of your team doing a cheerleading poses. Different spots had different point values so you had to be smart and plan out your route and how many you could get done, because once you passed the hour time limit, you lost 50 pts for each minute you were late.

It ended up just being David and I as team. I think it would have been more fun if we had more people in our group, but all your teammates had to fit in one car and it just didn't work out with kids and space, so we ended up on our own. We did have to be a little creative on a couple of our photos and use the timer and place the camera on the car but we worked it out. We did have a blast though.

Angie's family pulled up as we were taking out photo and decided they were going to jump right on in.

We ended the scavenger hunt at Portillos, which has really good Chicago style hot dogs. Mmmmm, they are good! But we came in 2nd place. Angie's team barely beat us! We knew it was going to be close, as we ran into themselves places as were racing around town. Great job guys!

So here's one last photo of me enjoying my hot dog!

Summer is Here

I can not believe that today is the first day of summer. It is amazing how quickly time flies. Since, today is the first day of summer I thought I would share some of my favorite summer memories.

Summer memories as a child

~ catching fireflies at night

~ my mom taking us on a bike ride/picnic in the country. She would make us cucumber sandwiches (she is British).

~ all the cool fireworks you can get in Indiana. The real sparkles and not the cheesy lame ones you have here in CA.

~ riding my bike to the library and checking as many books as I could and then going home and laying on a blanket in the shade and reading all day.

~ the awesome thunderstorms we would get. Sigh... I do miss those.

California Memories

~ Bonfires at the beach

~ Driving my little old Cabriolet convertible that I used to own.

~ The hubby rigging up an outdoor movie experience with the projector and watching the old Disney movie Summer Magic on blankets and signing along to the music.

~ Walking to Dairy Queen after bible study and getting ice cream.

~ Watching Disneyland's fireworks show on a hot summer evening.

What is one of your favorite memories of summer?

Yay, it's Friday

Boy am I glad it's Friday! Work has been extremely busy the last couple of weeks. I guess that does mean job security, so I really shouldn't complain, but I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!

Anyways, last night the hubby and I went out to dinner and got sushi. It's been awhile since we last had some and it was good! It was also nice to spend some quality time with David. After dinner, we went to Walmart to buy a Blue Ray player that they had on sale. We also picked up the movie Cars. As soon as we got home David set it up. He loves electronics, but which guy doesn't?

Since, I'm a girl I don't really pay much attention to electronics and the new technology. I never really thought to much about getting a Blue Ray player. Since, it was such a good deal, I agreed to getting it and I am glad we did. I was amazed at how good the movie looked!  I am very much more a rent a movie type of gal instead of actually going to the movie theatre so I am excited about all the movies we can get that are in Blue Ray from Netflix.

Let's see what other stuff is going on... we had the neighbor boy clean up our little backyard and it looks awesome now. He did such a good job. I also ordered jeans from American Eagle and they arrived yesterday. I absolutely love them! I am wearing them right now actually. :)  I have also been enjoying the warmer weather. For awhile there it was quite cool. At the time I did really enjoy the cooler weather because it wasn't going to last and before I knew it I would be complaining about the heat and thinking why do we live in what should be called a desert. I think the only reason I want it to warm up is so I can wear shorts. I am not looking forward to the weeks on end of 100+ days though.

That's about it for today. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Checking In

Sorry people for not posting lately. I don't really have any excuses. Well not anything good. I have just been plain LAZY. Sorry!

So, because of my laziness, here is a quick post of what's been going on in our lives. My last post, I mentioned that I was coming down with a cold. Yep lasted 2 weeks. I gave it to the hubby as well.

Never worked on my blog layout like I wanted too, because I was Lazy.

Became addicted to Farmtown on Facebook. Thanks Brandy!

The hubby went out and bought an expensive vacuum cleaner. I should be mad at him for not discussing it with me, but he had this sheepish smile and truthfully I just can't stay mad him.
We went to a graduation party this last weekend and had a blast. The food was awesome. Also, our friend whose party it was had bought fireworks on his drive back home here to CA. The boys had a blast letting off of few. Of course, since this place is practically a desert and we are in the middle a drought, we figured it was probably best to stop before we set the house and city on fire.

I bought some jeans online through American Eagle. I never received anything, so I called customer service today. Turns out, my order was stuck in processing mode. The girl was awesome and canceled the order and put it back through and then even took of the shipping charge. I know it's only a couple of dollars, but I was excited. It's not often you get great customer service anymore. I definitely wasn't expecting it, when I called.

Went to Target on my lunch today and walked out spending way too much. Every single item was completely necessary. I didn't buy one thing that way "fun" and I still spent over a $100.00. Darn you Target!

That's about it! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
