So I totally lied about posting pictures of our trip to Santa Barbara for our anniversary. Sorry! Dinner plans changed and we ended up at my Bil's house with the rest of the hubby's family. We ended up staying quite late and I basically went home and went straight to bed!
Anyways, our anniversary has caused me to look back on our wedding several times over the past couples of days. Especially at work because one of my coworkers wasn't working here when we got married, so I had to give her a recap of the wedding. I have realized, that we forget so many of the little details. I wish I had started this blog earlier and had written down aspects of the wedding like emotions and feelings. But alas, I didn't.
When telling my coworker about the wedding, I remembered one funny instance that I really don't want to forget! It's not of the actual wedding, but of something that happened later. Basically, we had made plans to stay at the Mission Inn the night of our wedding and then the next day fly to Hawaii. The next morning when I woke up and tried to get dressed, I realized I was missing my jeans! I had two options, put my dress back on or wear a pair of David's jeans. I went with the second option. You know you would have too! They were so huge on me and I had to use one of his belts to make them stay up. I am laughing about it right now, as I think about the whole situation. I was definitely rocking the humongous jeans when we checked out!
Turns out, whoever packed up the overnight stuff in the room we got ready in, forgot my jeans or didn't see them. I had packed my overnight bag and took it to the wedding, as everyone got dressed at the location. I had planned on wearing the jeans that I wore over to the location the next day. I still don't know who packed everything up to this day, but to whoever did: Thank you for doing so because this is a great memory!

Almost One Year, Crazy!
It's finally April, which has to be one of my favorite months! Spring is in full bloom and the weather is great. I always have loved this month, as Easter is normally in April, not this year though. It is also my friend Rachel's birthday, and starting this year our wedding anniversary is this month as well. Oh and I can't forget MY birthday!
I am really excited this year though, because we are jam packed with stuff going on. April last year was just a blur, as we were consumed with all the wedding details and getting everything together. We barely even celebrated my birthday, as it was the week of the wedding. It will be nice to have a normal April. I am definitely looking forward to it.
I am still amazed though, that it has been almost a year since we got married. I went back to my myspace blog, that I used to keep and has all the wedding details on it. I really should transfer those over to here, but alas that is a lot of work. It's really interesting though, to read up on what I was doing about a year ago, for all the wedding plans.
Haha, little did I know, I would just end up making the programs myself! Boy, they were a lot of work, but they were worth it though, as they came out beautiful!

So I realized that I have not blogged in awhile. The bridal shower went
well. My girls did a great job of decorating. It was really pretty. Got some
good stuff too! :) We are past the one month mark. We are working on the little
details now. Putting ribbon on things and buying the last little decorations.
Next project to work on is the programs which will be some work. Thankfully
though we are going to have someone else design them for us and we just have to
print them and put them together. It's all coming together!

Wow, it's amazing how time flies!

Proposal & Engagement

David proposed on May 27, 2006 down at Huntington Beach. All of our friends and family braved the unusually cold and windy beach to see it happen, they were all in on it! I had absolutely no clue and was completely shocked!

Here is a little video of David popping the question.

I absolutely loved our engagement photos! Our photographer Marlin Munoz did a wonderful job. I will forever cherish these photos.

Friday was the day of Tim & Patty's wedding, so we were quite busy. Before leaving on the trip, I did a lot of research on places to visit and also for good restaurants. We knew, we wanted to find a authentic Cuban place because there is no better place to get Cuban food than in Miami. Thanks to the wonderful nesties from the Miami board, on TheNest.com, as they recommended the Cuban restaurant Versailles. We headed over there for lunch and had a great meal! The girls were right on about the restaurant!

The fried Yucca was really good, especially with the garlic cilantro sauce. Yummm!

David and I both got the Chicken Versailles: chicken marinated in mojo sauce and served with a lemon butter sauce, Moros rice and Fried Plantains

After, lunch we headed next door to their bakery. I got a mango moose that was amazing. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture! We all changed into our snazzy wedding clothes and headed over to the wedding which was at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. They had so many great touches and the one I loved the most was that Patty and her dad walked into the Star Wars theme song!

The sparklers farwell was super cute as well

Hopefully, tomorrow I will have time to blog the last two days of the trip!

I do
Congratulations to two special couples that we know! About 2 weeks ago, our friends Erik and Joleen got engaged at California Adventure. They are planning their wedding for August. The second couple, Joey and Kirsty got married this past weekend at our church and then had their reception at the Lake Norconian Club. They used our wedding photographer Marlin Munoz and it was great to see him and his wife Marlene at the wedding. From the photos I have seen on Marlin's blog their pictures are going to amazing!
We are definitely are at the point in our lives where it seems like all our friends are already married or are getting married in the future. We have been going to lots of weddings lately.
Here is a picture of the newly engaged couple with David and I at Joey and Kirsty's wedding last weekend. I stole this off Joleen's myspace! :)

In two weeks, we will be heading out to Miami for Tim and Patty's wedding. I am really looking forward to the trip. I haven't taken any vacation time since our honeymoon and I really need a break. Also, I have never been to Miami or even Florida. I have gotten semi close to that area as I have been to Georgia and Alabama but thats still a way off. What is also pretty awesome is there are quite a few people from our church heading back to the wedding as well. It will definitely be a fun trip! I have been researching stuff for us to do and there is so much. One thing, on the top of my list is to go to a good cuban resturant as I have never tried it before and you can't pick a better place to try it for the first time. The other thing I want to do is go to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. It is supposed to be the Hearst Castle of the east.
I am sure most of the people that read my blog have never been to Miami but if you have, I would love to hear about what not miss or any recommendations!

Busy weekend
This past weekend was a lot of fun. We went to a friends wedding, the San Diego Zoo, and another friends birthday party. So all in all, it was very eventful. Friday we drove down to the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego for the wedding. The Del is is such a beautiful hotel. David and I had looked into staying there Friday night but they were booked. The wedding was very beautiful, beautiful bride and beautiful message. It did feel a little odd though to me, I think it was because it was on a Friday and I had worked earlier that day. The food was amazing, lobster bisque, salad, and fillet Mignon. Thanks Sterling and Ashleigh for inviting us! The next day David and I went to the San Diego zoo. I can not remember exactly when was the last time I had been to the zoo. I believe it may have been back when I was in either 5th or 6th grade, my parents took us to the zoo in Denver. It was very hot and lots of walking. I really enjoyed it but I don't think its a place I need to go back to anytime soon. We'll go back when we have kids. By the time we left the zoo we were starving. David mentioned a mexican resturant that he had been too when he was little. We had no clue where it was but he just looked it up on the gps and we were off. The restaurant is El Indio in the Mission Hills area. They have been open since 1940 I believe. David said it was just like he remembered. They had the best chips and salsa ever. I really wish they had another location in Riverside. This place is definitely going on the list of places to go back too. The next day we were so tired that after church we both took naps and then went over to our Rachel and Scott's apartment to celebrate our friend Rob's birthday. Happy 26th Birthday Rob! We ate and played games. So overall, the weekend was very busy but a lot of fun. Here are some photos of the wedding.
