In my world, I took yesterday off from work as I was sick again! I slept the entire day, in hopes of kicking this colds butt! I also, watched some America's Next Top Model that I had on tivo. I made myself some chicken tortilla soup for dinner. It was yummy! David and I, then went and voted. I couldn't let this cold stop me from participating. Our voting place was right around the corner which was nice but it was at a mortuary which was a little weird.
The weekend was good, but went by oh so quickly. Lunch and gab fest with the girls on Saturday. On Sunday, we had a few people over to watch the Superbowl. We had lots of good food and I also made my own salsa. This is a huge feat for this Midwestern girl, as Mexican food in my house growing up was the premade hard taco shells and some ground beef cooked in taco mix! Going out to eat mexican food consisted of going to Taco Bell! So thanks to the girls at work for giving me advice on how to make some good salsa, so I didn't have to serve some from jar!

I do
Congratulations to two special couples that we know! About 2 weeks ago, our friends Erik and Joleen got engaged at California Adventure. They are planning their wedding for August. The second couple, Joey and Kirsty got married this past weekend at our church and then had their reception at the Lake Norconian Club. They used our wedding photographer Marlin Munoz and it was great to see him and his wife Marlene at the wedding. From the photos I have seen on Marlin's blog their pictures are going to amazing!
We are definitely are at the point in our lives where it seems like all our friends are already married or are getting married in the future. We have been going to lots of weddings lately.
Here is a picture of the newly engaged couple with David and I at Joey and Kirsty's wedding last weekend. I stole this off Joleen's myspace! :)

In two weeks, we will be heading out to Miami for Tim and Patty's wedding. I am really looking forward to the trip. I haven't taken any vacation time since our honeymoon and I really need a break. Also, I have never been to Miami or even Florida. I have gotten semi close to that area as I have been to Georgia and Alabama but thats still a way off. What is also pretty awesome is there are quite a few people from our church heading back to the wedding as well. It will definitely be a fun trip! I have been researching stuff for us to do and there is so much. One thing, on the top of my list is to go to a good cuban resturant as I have never tried it before and you can't pick a better place to try it for the first time. The other thing I want to do is go to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. It is supposed to be the Hearst Castle of the east.
I am sure most of the people that read my blog have never been to Miami but if you have, I would love to hear about what not miss or any recommendations!

Awesome Photographer!
David met Scott Montgomery on his backpacking trip to the Sierra's. We saw him yesterday and he gave us the link to his website. We took a look and boy is he good! He has an awesome way of catching peoples personalities and their thoughts with his camera. Compostionally his photos are amazing! I love his photo under his portfolio: people 1, of the older gentleman standing in front of the old house with his briefcase. The photo really portrays the thought that this man has traveled through life because of his briefcase and the old house in the background. Definitely check it out his website here.

Trash The Dress
For a long time I have been wanting to do a trash the dress session with our wedding photographer Marlin Munoz. I have been researching the idea and looking at examples on Trashthedress.com. Recently I started casually mentioning the idea to David and hinting around that I wanted to do it. At first he was pretty adamant that it was not an option. He didn't want me ruining my dress. With a little more research, I found out that with some professional dry cleaning most dresses are spotless afterwards. I kept emailing David links of articles in which they stated most dresses were fine after being cleaned. Turns out there was more to David not wanting to do it than just the dress getting ruined. The other night, he said that he wanted his memory of me wearing my dress to be just of our wedding day and not of us taking pictures on the beach. I was bummed till I read an article on the Oc Register in which one of the girls was not about to trash her $7,000.00 wedding dress and found one for $20.00! I dug a little deeper and found a couple places to buy cheap dresses. So I made the suggestion to David that if I can find a dress for cheap, would he do it and he finally said yes! I immediately called Marlin and he said he would love to do it! So now onto the dress search! Wohoo, I'm so excited!
