at work is December 31st. This was completely unexpected and partially why I haven't blogged since our trip to Sacramento. That and I was a little burned out by NaBloPoMo.
I came back from the trip last week on Wednesday and was greeted with the news that we lost a huge contract, that consisted of probably more than half of our work. Even know we knew a lot of people would be layed off, I seriously didn't think I would be affected. Yes, I was a little nervous, but I couldn't see how they could do with out me. My boss was pretty positive as well. Ya, well I was wrong.
It was decided officially yesterday, that they were going to let me go. My boss was lucky enough to be able to keep me on till the rest of the month, compared to most of the people who will be gone by the end of the week. Which I am so very thankful for. That gives me an extra 3 weeks of pay and time to look for something else.
It really sucks though as it is the holidays and we are in the middle of a recession. I have fears that is it is going to be hard to find something new because of this. Then to top it off David's company hasn't been doing well. I am really nervous.
I have to keep remembering that, just because we think we have the best plans for ourselves, doesn't mean that is what the Lord has planned for us. His plans are so much greater, than we can ever imagine. He has a plan for us and we may not understand it right now. Hopefully later, we can look back on our trials and see the good behind them. This is a very comforting thought!
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

I'm so sorry, too! Good luck!
Sorry to hear that you're losing your job! At least you've got a little bit of time. I'm sure you're going to find something - you just have to keep in mind that in this economic climate it may not be your dream job (or maybe it will be!).
I am so sorry to hear this. Best of luck.
I am so sorry Robyn--who would have thought that this would have happened especially after all the "what ifs" we talked about on Wednesday night.
Probably not what you want to hear right now...but maybe God's moving you to the High Desert!!! (You've got to smile at that). You're always welcome to crash at the Curtis Ranch!
I am sorry Robyn. I hope things turn around soon.
I'm sorry they are letting you go Robyn, but like you said at least you have a couple of weeks to start applying elsewhere. I hope everything works out for the better for you and your hubby.
Oh no! I'm so sorry. But you're right. God has a plan and this didn't take Him by surprise. He will take care of you.
