Day 2: A Great and Terrible Beauty
I almost went to bed tonight without blogging. It's only the second day of NaBloPoMo and I almost failed. How sad! Thankfully, I did remember!
So, the other day I finished the book, "A Great and Terrible Beauty" by Libba Bray and for once I really, really didn't know how I felt about a book upon finishing it. I liked the characters, especially reading Gemma’s quirky inner thoughts. As well as the setting, girl's boarding school in London in the later 1890's. But, I feel like the book just ended suddenly, when we were just finally starting to get some answers. I am also very confused as to what even happened at the end and I was left with lot's of questions.
That being said, I did go and read some other people's reviews and it sounds like I wasn't the only that was very confused at the end. It appears there is more of an explanation in the following two books. I am probably going to finish the series, as I did like the characters and setting, but I won’t be rushing off to the library right away to get them.
Up next is: "The Story of Lucy Gault" by William Trevor.
